From Client Data to Detailed Report: How CNP Designs and Verifies Pump Selections

09 Oct 2026 · CNP Pump Global · 3 min read

At CNP Pump Global, a pump recommendation is never a guess. Our expert engineering team follows a documented process, so that the pump you receive matches the conditions you described and you can see exactly how the choice was made.

Step 1: We collect your data

Good selection starts with good information. We ask for:

  • Required flow rate and total head, or the pipework layout so that we can calculate the head
  • The liquid, its temperature, density and whether it contains solids
  • Power supply: voltage and frequency (50 or 60 Hz)
  • Suction conditions, tank levels and installation site
  • Material and approval requirements, and operating hours per year
  • Photos and nameplates if an existing pump is being replaced

You can send this through the contact form, WhatsApp or e-mail. Tell us what you know; our engineers will ask for anything that is missing.

Step 2: We calculate the system

Where needed we calculate the pipeline losses section by section: straight pipe, fittings, valves and elevation. This gives the system curve and the true duty point, rather than a rough estimate.

Step 3: We select from verified catalogue data

Pumps are selected from CNP catalogue data that our engineers have checked against the manufacturer's published performance tables and curves. We compare candidate models at your duty point, looking at efficiency, power, NPSH and operating range, in the correct 50 Hz or 60 Hz data.

Step 4: We verify the result

The selected pump must cover your duty within the stated tolerance (for example ISO 9906 or GB/T 3216 levels). We check the margin on head and flow, the motor power, suction conditions and the pressure limits of the series.

Step 5: You receive a detailed report

The report gives you everything needed to approve the selection:

  • A summary of your input data and assumptions
  • The duty point and the shortlisted models with a clear comparison
  • The pump performance curves (head, efficiency, power and NPSH) with the duty point marked
  • A one-page datasheet with technical data, materials and dimensions
  • Energy and cost estimate over the operating period
  • Our engineers' notes and recommendations for installation

Why this matters

A documented selection protects you: the data, the calculation and the checks are all visible, so your consultant, purchasing team and operators can review the same figures. If your conditions change, we update the report and you can see what changed.
